Our #1 Priority

Safety at Olander

At Olander, safety isn’t just a checklist – it’s a culture. Whether we’re transporting students, athletes, executives, or grandparents, we believe in doing everything possible to protect the people who trust us to get them where they need to go.

Driver training that goes beyond the basics.

Our in-house, state-certified CDL training program is one of only a handful in the region, and every driver we put behind the wheel has been through a thorough, hands-on process that includes:

  • State-certified CDL Class B training (with passenger and school bus endorsements as needed)
  • Behind-the-wheel instruction and third-party testing done onsite
  • Onboarding with real-world route training and ride-alongs
  • Ongoing education in emergency response, safe driving practices, and seasonal adjustments
  • Regular performance reviews and recertification checks

Whether you’re riding with a new hire or a 20-year veteran, you can trust they’ve been trained the Olander way: with respect, focus, and care.

Equipment that’s inspected, maintained, and road-ready.

Every vehicle in our fleet – from school buses to full-size coaches – is maintained in-house by our experienced technicians. We don’t cut corners, and we don’t wait until something breaks.

Our equipment safety standards include:

  • Daily pre-trip inspections performed by drivers
  • Scheduled in-house preventative maintenance
  • Commercial-grade steam cleaning of seats and floors
  • GPS tracking on all routes for accountability and real-time updates
  • Two-way radios and/or cellular contact with dispatch for immediate communication
  • Restroom and HVAC checks on all coach trips

Our school buses are fully compliant with state and federal safety standards, and our coaches are equipped with air-ride suspension and clean, comfortable interiors that prioritize both safety and rider experience.

A Safety Culture That Starts with Respect.

At Olander, we don’t just talk about safety – we live it. We hire people who care. We encourage feedback, reward attention to detail, and treat every rider like someone’s family member – because they are.

Our safety culture includes:

  • A “no shortcuts” mindset – every time, every route
  • Open-door communication between dispatch, drivers, and leadership
  • Flexibility and caution in extreme weather conditions
  • Proactive problem-solving: if something seems off, we stop and fix it
  • A strong team ethic: if one person’s off, we all pull together to get it right

From training and equipment to culture and communication, safety isn’t something we add on – it’s something we build in.

When you ride with Olander, you’re in good hands.

Whether it’s a daily school route or a cross-country charter, you deserve peace of mind. We’re here to provide it – with drivers you can trust, vehicles you can rely on, and a team that treats safety like the standard, not the exception.
